Of Burton, age 82, died Monday, August 10, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Friday, August 14, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Geraldine was born January 3, 1927 in Mayville, Michigan, the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley and Lilian Brown. She and Raymond Searles were united marriage in December 12, 1945. Geraldine owned a used car lot in Burton for 50 years and was a Sunday School Teacher at Clifford Baptist Church. She enjoyed; bingo, going to the casino, collecting anitqueAaas, and spending time with her granchildren.Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory are her husband, Raymond Searles, four children; Joyce and husband, Gary Parrish of Mt. Morris, Carol and husband, Leo Bruman of Millington, Ruth Ann Jocham of Burton, Becky and husband, John Metcalf of Flint, seven grandchildren; Debra and husband, Joe Menard of Rankin, Dana and husband, Larry Mattice of Birch Run, Gerry and husband, Troy Townsend of Clifford, Larry and wife, April Jocham of Clifford, Daniel and wife, Rochelle Jocham of Kingston, Christopher and Matthew Metcalf of Flint. eight great-grandchildren; Nathaniel Leo, Micheal Lawrence, Alexis, Trenton, Brooke Marie, Zackrie Raymond, Mckinley Ray, Coltin Daniel,half-sister; Elsie, two step-sisters; Edith, and Gloria, and niece; Tiny Kay. Geraldine was preceeded in death by her parents and two brothers; Lloyd and Vauhn Brown.
