Obituary of Ira Varnel Pearson

Of Mt. Morris, age 72, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 4:00pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with cremation to follow. Family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 4:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to McLaren Regional Medical Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ira was born May 6, 1937 in Arkansas, the second born child of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar and Glennie (Harris) Pearson. He and Donna Lee Turow were united in marriage in December 2, 1967. Ira worked at several autobody shops in Flint painting cars. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers, golfing and most of all, being with his family. Ira leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Donna, two sons; Randy and Jeffery, three grandchildren; Randy Jr., Meghan, and Andrew, sister, Kay and husband Don Brown of New Madrid, Missouri, brother, Jimmy and wife Mary Pearson of Sikeston, Missouri, sisters-in-law; Pat Pearson of Flushing and Jean Pearson, of Bloomfield Hills, Missouri and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Ira was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Glennie Marie and two brothers; Kenneth Dean and Don Wayne.
