Obituary of Betty Stewart

Of Mt. Morris, age 77, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. BettyAaas family will be having a memorial service at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Lung Association or to Genesee County Humane Society. Betty was born February 7, 1932 in Hendersonville, North Carolina the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert and Grace (Whitaker) Carland. She and Raymond Stewart were united in marriage January 3, 1950 in Asheville, North Carolina. Betty attended Mills River High School in North Carolina. Betty worked at The Fair Department Store for 22 years before retiring in 1991. She loved her home and family and gardening. Betty was an amazing cook. She especially enjoyed watching her husband, son and grandsons bowl. Betty loved to spoil her dog Scotty. Betty leaves to cherish her memory husband, Raymond W. Stewart; two children, Judy Ann Brady, Mike Stewart; three grandsons, Michael and Matthew Stewart, and Christopher Brady; her dog Scotty; sisters-in-law, Ruby, Faye, and Iona; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
