Obituary of Leland Fortinberry

Of Flushing, age 75, died Saturday, July 28, 2012. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Dr. James Fortinberry will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Leland's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to American Heart Association, Alzheimers or The American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Leland was born October 21, 1936, in Phoenix, Arizona the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Agnes (Goote) Fortinberry. He and Frances were united in marriage August 21, 1959. Lee worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of UAW Local #659. In his free time Lee enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Left to cherish his memory wife, Frances; three children; Kathy Fortinberry, Steven Fortinberry and Daryl Fortinberry; one grandson, Alexander Steven; seven siblings; and many nieces nephews and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Fortinberry.
