Robert Lee Houghtaling\ 1958-2006\ Age 47 of Swartz Creek died January 22, 2006 at his home. Funeral service will be held 1:00pm Thursday, January 26 at the Living Word Family Worship Center, Pastor Jack Bowen officiating with burial following in Argentine Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Wednesday at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Thursday morning, Robert will be taken to lie in state at the Living Word Family Worship Center from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Make A Wish Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Robert was born November 22, 1958 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. & Mrs. Donald and Norma (Smith) Houghtaling. He and Blanche Davis were united in marriage on April 7, 2000. They affectionately called each other Honey Bee and Sweet Potato. He loved to fish, party with his family and friends, cook out and give all his nieces and nephews aThe Claw.a Left to cherish Robertas memory are his son, Robert Donald Houghtaling born July 23, 1981; wife, Blanche; mother, Norma Johnson of Red Wing, MN.; five step children; sixteen step grandchildren; three sisters, Mary and husband Gary Newton of Grand Blanc, Sheila Houghtaling Helmueller of Roberts, WI., Shannan Houghtaling Watson of Roberts WI.; one brother, Gaylon Young of Red Wing MN.; numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Houghtaling in 1987; grandmother, Mary Belle Smith in 2002 and grandmother, Mae Ellsworth in 1980. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Avalon Hospice, Brad and Sue Hansen, Greg Slattery and niece Christina Reeser and friend Dede Donley.\
