Obituary of Byron S. Prime

Age 83, of Akron, died Friday, January 27, 2006 at Caro Community Hospital. Byron was born September 4, 1922 the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Anna (Clery) Prime. He and Ruby LaGina were united in marriage on September 15, 1989 at the Akron United Methodist Church. As a young man he joined the US Army and served stateside during WWII from 1942-1943. Byronas life encompassed many endeavors. He founded "Prime Brotheras Mattress and Furniturea with his brother Virgil over 60 years ago and was the owner of Laundromat/Car Washes in Fairgrove, Akron and Unionville during the 1960as. In addition to these careers, he served on the Board of Directors at the Caro-Akron Community Bank, was a life member of the Bay City Elks Lodge #88 and was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruby Prime of Akron, sister-in-law, Edna Prime of Sebewaing\ and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Byron was preceded in death by his parents, sister Esther Keyser, and eight brothers, Dan, Bob, Barney, Billy, Lee, Elmer, Milton and Virgil Prime. Byronas funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Akron United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wisner Twp. Cemetery. With Graveside Military Honors conducted by the Fairgrove VFW Post #7486.Byronas family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home, Clark Chapel in Fairgrove on Sunday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. On Monday morning he will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for the Akron United Methodist Church, the Disabled American Veterans or a charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.\
