She was a substitute teacher and parent volunteer in the Vassar schools after they were born. Norma Jean was very active in the Methodist Church, playing the organ and piano and singing in the choir. Her music involvement continued in her church choir in Arizona. She was an outgoing and caring friend to many, and a fun-loving grandma to her two grandchildren. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Angie and husband Ray De Lange of Guadalajara, Mexico, grandson 2Lt USA Mark Walden of Amberg, Germany, seven nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law and lifelong dear friends.
