Age 82, of Clio, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 25, 2014, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler St., Clio, Michigan. Pastor Erik Cloeter will officiate with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery with graveside Military Honors conducted by VFW # 4087. Family will receive friends at Messiah Lutheran Church on Wednesday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church, envelopes are available at the church. George was born November 16, 1931, in Clio, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and Gladys (Scott) Taylor. He and June Hoppe were united in marriage on May 5, 1951, in Clio. George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from GM after 20 years of service on Skilled Trades. George owned and operated Clio Lumber until his death. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, UAW #651, Michigan Retail Lumber Dealers Association, VFW #4087, and Korean War Veterans Association. Left to cherish his memory are four children, Randy Taylor and Renee Powell, George and wife, Belinda Taylor, Terri and husband, Tim McQueen and David Taylor; five grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Nick Anthony, Joshua and wife, Amber Taylor, Justin McQueen, Michael and wife, April Taylor, Jilian McQueen and fiance, Nicholas Kolesar; five great-grandchildren, Griffen and Peyton Taylor; Kelsey, Chase, Eva and Emily Anthony; brother, Chuck and wife, Joyce Taylor; sisters, Mabel and husband, Ralph Aguon, Gloria and husband, Richard Hobin and Esther Reinhart; and several nieces; nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; infant children, Sally and Richard; brother, Donald; and sisters, Hazel and Betty. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Michelle and Joshua's mother, Karen Taylor NP, and George's neighbor, Robert Martens for their care and support.
