My Dear Dad,
I can't believe you're gone. Then it hits me and I cry and when my cry is done I'm right back to where I was before and can't believe you're gone.
Thank you for the happy memories and good times we shared together and with family.
Even the little things mattered.
Like horsey back rides and letting me use your arms and legs as hills for my toy cars.
Building my first train set together.
Watching SitComs and PBS Documentaries together in the 1980s.
Taking us Trick-or-Treating.
Camping and Cedar Point trips.
Going to the Genesee Atari Group meetings.
All those kickball and volleyball games when we were kids.
Trips to Mackinac, the Upper Peninsula, and the Soo.
Watching College Football and Hockey games together.
The Christmas Eve parties and sleepovers in the 1990s and early 2000s. They were a blast.
Playing games and spending time with your grandchildren.
Thank you for all the things, big and small, you did for me through my life.
You were generous with others but not generous with yourself.
You should have been more generous with yourself and your own care.
You more than deserved it.
Our failure was that we were unable to convince you to do that.
Without you, I wouldn't be here. Your children and grandchildren are your greatest legacy.
I love you Dad. I love you more than you'll ever know.
May the light of God shine upon you Eternal Happiness and Peace.
Love you forever,
Kevin
