Obituary of Desiree Lene Stayen
Age 43, of Mt. Morris, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at home with her family by her side. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor Daniel Shinabarger to officiate. Desiree was born in Flint on March 17, 1980, the daughter of Mr. Robert Minzey and Ms. Sylvia Stayen. Educated locally, Desiree attended Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School and graduated with the class of 1999. She went on to attend college in Las Vegas and obtained an associate degree in Fashion Design. Desiree loved Las Vegas and started her career there as a Banquet Bartender at the Cosmopolitan Casino. She loved to work and often worked long shifts. Desiree was very artistic and loved art and interior design. She also loved to travel and took many trips all over the world as well as road trips with her mom up and down the coast of California. Desiree was well known for her love of cooking spicy food. Spending time with her family was one of the things she loved the most, attending concerts, cookouts, and just hanging out. Desiree loved her daughter with all her heart and taught her all of the life skills a young child would ever need. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Desiree's memory are her mother, Sylvia Stayen; daughter, Shylar Lene Moore; sister, Sherry Stallings; bonus sister, Mandy Piraneo; niece and nephew: Jessica and Nathan, uncle Jack and aunt Nancy.
Desiree was preceded in death by her father and uncles: Bob and Greg.
