Obituary of Shirley Jean Hadaway-Mayberry
Age 82, of Bridgeport, formerly of Fairgrove, died, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport. A funeral celebrating Shirley’s life will take place 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairgrove. Pastor Josh Haller will officiate with burial to follow in Gilford Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or church.
Shirley was born June 25, 1935, in Gilford, Michigan to Mr. & Mrs. Roy and Mary (Osantowski) Miller. She graduated from Fairgrove High School in 1953. Shirley and Durelle Henry Hadaway were united in marriage in January of 1954. She worked for Midwest Rotary and for Miles Martin Funeral Home. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, flowers, and traveling. She will be greatly missed.
Shirley is survived by her daughter: Barbara Jean Ames and Bonnie Jo Hadaway; three grandchildren: Melissa (Alex) Miller, Danielle (Brandon) Schumacher, and Ashley Ames; three great-grandchildren: Tayler Leach, Tyler Leach, and Nicholas Miller; two nieces: Phyllis Pettit and Mary Jane Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy Miller and Mary (Osantowski) Miller, husband Durelle Henry Hadaway in 2004, sister JoAnn (Robert) Bowers and nephew, Dan Woern.
