Obituary of Fleecie V. (Roberts) Ross-Boone
Age 100, of Clio, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Maple Woods Manor of Clio. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. John Montney to officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Fleecie’s memory may direct them towards the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boone was born February 22, 1917, in Dexter, Missouri, to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Printice and Letha Edna (Mofield) Roberts. Fleecie was one of ten children in her family and was raised on her family’s farm in Missouri. She was united in marriage to her first husband Hershel Thomas Ross; together they raised six children. Sadly, Hershel preceded her in death on November 4, 1959. Fleecie would remarry to Finley Curtis Boone. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1992. Fleecie enjoyed spending time with all five generations of children and grandchildren and will be missed by many people.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Glenda Ray and husband, Larry, James Ross and wife, Joyce, Thomas Ross and wife, Ardith, Sharon Ross-Tidball, and husband, Thomas, and Mary Jo Ross; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Tom Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Hershel Thomas Ross, second husband, Finley Curtis Boone, daughter Norma Jackson-Hesse in 2011, and eight siblings.
