Obituary of Nancy Billie Woodbeck

Nancy Billie Woodbeck, age 84, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Fostrian Nursing Home of Flushing. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 5, 2017, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Nancy's memory may direct them towards Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Nancy was born March 8, 1933, in Mt. Morris to the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Audrey (Allen) Shoens. She and Richard Woodbeck were united in marriage on June 14, 1952, in Mt. Morris. Sadly, he preceded her in death on February 24, 2003. Nancy retired from Citizen's Bank in Mt. Morris as a Bank Teller in 1989. She loved to read crochet, dance, camp and listen to music including dulcimer music. She enjoyed watching Dirty Dancing, Walker Texas Ranger and Reba on TV, and vacationing in Hartwick Pines and Northern Michigan. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Sally and husband, James Freeman; two sons: Bill and wife, Julie Woodbeck and Dan and wife, Vickie Woodbeck; brother: Claude and wife, Diane Shoens; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Woodbeck, and sister, Charlotte Buys. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.martinfuneralhome.com. Nancy was born, raised and worked in Mt. Morris. She loved to read crochet, dance, camp and listen to music including dulcimer music. Her favorite movie was Dirty Dancing. TV show Walker Texas Ranger and Reba, favorite color-purple, favorite vacation spot-Hartwick Pines and Northern Michigan. Nancy met her husband in high school and their first date was to a drive-in movie.
