Age 89, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Mt. Morris, Michigan, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 17, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Irene was born June 26, 1927, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew and Mary (Szrcsodi) Vitany. She married William Richter on May 11, 1946. Irene owned and operated many local businesses throughout the years. She enjoyed searching for sea shells on the beach and watching classic movies. Irene loved poetry and exchanging funny rhymes.
Left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and cousins.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Edward and two brothers, Bill Vitany and Andy Vitany.
