Bruce Oliver (B.O.) Age 86, of Davison, formerly of Mt. Morris, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 11, 2017. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Martin Funeral Cremation and Tribute Services- Mt. Morris. Pastor Hank Messing to officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Thursday from 12:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm. Family and friends will gather for a Flint Bowling Hall of Fame tribute ceremony on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Bruce's memory may direct them towards the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mr. Oliver was born April 4, 1930, in Sitka, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Esther (Lloyd) Oliver. He and Peggy (P.O) June Stickler were united in marriage on September 11, 1950, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the couple came to reside in Michigan where Bruce became the co-owner of Bruce and Louies Auto and Tire Sales in Flint. Bruce was an avid bowler, golfer, and Detroit Tigers fan. Bruce was renowned for his sense of humor and sportsmanship and made many dear friends Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Army. He is a former co-owner of Nightingale Lanes, Lounge, and Supper Club in Burton; a member of the legendary GLC and Gleason Volkswagon Champion bowling teams; Inductee and past president of the Flint Bowling Hall of Fame; a lifetime member of the Flint Bowling Association; past president of the Genesee County Liquor Commission, and Bowling Proprietors Association; and also co-founded the Big Brothers/Big-Sisters Bowling Charities. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Yvette Oliver-Lobato; heart daughters: Susan Manteufel, Carol Nowak, and Sandi Brewer;granddaughters: Annette Romel, Jody Anderson, Angella Pizzo, and Rachel Cotton, great granddaughter and "Future Hall of Famer", Jocelyn Brown, many other great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his parents, brothers Charles, Alfred, and Jim, sister Maxine, and son-in-law David Lobato.
