Obituary of Marvin Richard Titmus

Marvin Titmus, age 62, of Otisville, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. In accordance with Marvin’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a committal service with Military Honors held 2:00 pm, February 3, 2017, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, Michigan, 48442. Marvin was born May 26, 1954, in Flint, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Shirley (Burgess) Titmus. He and Bettie were united in marriage in Flint, on November 19, 2013. He graduated from Kearsley High School, with the class of 1972. Marvin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for two years, until receiving his honorable discharge on July 8, 1974. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching hunting shows on tv and General Hospital. He worked in construction as a stonemason for many years until his retirement. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Bettie; four children: Holly Burwell, Timothy Willbanks, Tina Christ, Matthew Willson-Mardlin; eight grandchildren: Jeremiah, Arianna, Abigail, Braeden, Tucker, Charity, Ashley, and Dylan; five siblings: Becky (Perry) Ranney, Wendy Robbins, Karen Morrow, Terrie (Duane) Harris, and Richie Titmus; and many other family members and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David, and his niece, Charity.
