Obituary of Agapito "Pete" R. Solis, Sr.

Agapito “Pete” R. Solis, Sr., age 62, of Oxford, died Saturday, May 28, 2016. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp. Pastor Tom Downs will officiate with cremation to follow. Agapito’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm; on Thursday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Agapito “Pete” was born November 3, 1953, in Raymondville, Texas, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Rodrigo and Delfina (Rodriguez) Solis. Pete worked for Parker Hannifin Inc. in Oxford for more than 20 years; retiring on December 15, 2015. In his free time, Pete enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching TV especially the Detroit Tigers, and listening to Tejano music. Left to cherish his memory, his mother, Delfina Solis; son, Agapito “Pete” and wife, Tiffany Solis, Jr., daughter, Yolanda Solis; four grandchildren: Malina, Alejandro, Naila, and Antonio; five siblings: Rodrigo and wife, Blanca Solis, Jr., Juan and wife, Gretchen Solis, Sylvia and husband, Tony Fierros, Enrique Solis, and Daniel Solis; special friends: Jim and wife, Lisa Flynn, Jackie Billgren, Teresa Garner, Tracey Plummer, Brenda and husband, Whitey, Sonny and wife, Laurie, Joe, Doyle, and Jerry; and many other family members and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his father Rodrigo.
