Obituary of Julia I. Goss

Of Mt. Morris, age 80, died Sunday, October 16, 2011, at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. Family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home Tuesday night at 7:00 pm to pray the Rosary. On Wednesday morning, Julia will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Julia was born January 29, 1931, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil and Wanda (Kobylczak) Bonk. She and Joseph Stanley Goss were united in marriage May 28, 1948; he preceded her in death March 13, 1995. Julia retired from A/C Spark Plug in 1993. She enjoyed the great outdoors, cooking, baking, gardening and casinos. Left to cherish her memory are children, Gary Goss, Marlene and husband, Christopher McClary, Larry and wife, Barbara Goss and Wayne Goss; five grandchildren, Matt Goss and partner, Lindsay Mello, Trisha Goss and partner, Mary Bailey, Andrew Goss, Greg Goss and Dane Berman; one great-grandson, Boss Goss; two brothers, Walter Bonk and Frank Bonk; dogs, Bonnie, Annie and Rusty; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Joseph Stanley Goss; and eight siblings.
