Obituary of Dion Allan Petersen

Of Mt. Morris, age 43, died Thursday, January 5, 2012, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Tuesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home at 6:00 pm to pray the Rosary. On Wednesday morning, Dion will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the family fund for his children. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.Dion was born October 9, 1968, in McMinville, Oregon, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Nancy (Black) Petersen. Dion worked as a truck driver for many different companies. He also worked as an EMT. Dion leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancee, Heidi Gross; six children, Ranae Adams, Kayla, Jacob, Cassidy, Michael and Mason Petersen; former wife and friend, Sharmon Petersen; four brothers, Tim Petersen, Richard Spencer, Shawn and Todd Petersen and Ryan Adams; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Ashley.
