George W. Willson, Sr. \ Of Vassar age, 74, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Covenant Health Care- Cooper in Saginaw.\ George was born September 12, 1932 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burt J. and Martha (Bud) Willson. \ He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Korea. \ He and Elaine Emery were united in marriage August 1, 1970.\ George retired May 1, 1992 for G.M. after 42 years of service. He worked in maintenance and was a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 599, a life member of Vassar VFW Post 3692 and the Vassar Eagles Aerie #2380 where he was a Golden Eagle. He enjoyed working, taking care of his wife, taking his family shopping and playing cards. \ Surviving are his wife Elaine of Vassar;\ 2 children, Helen Mae and George Willson Jr. both of Vassar;\ brothers Burt and wife Donna Willson of Otisville,\ Dell and wife Shirley Willson,\ Harold and wife Inez Willson,\ Ed and wife Bonnie Willson all of Millington; \ Several nieces and nephews including special nephew Ricky and wife Mavis Willson of Millington.\ He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Johnny and sister Loretta.\ Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar with burial at Tuscola Township Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home 4-9 pm Sunday, 9-9 Monday and 9-am - 2pm Tuesday. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Vassar Eagles. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.\
