Age 30 of Charleston SC formerly of Flint MI area died the morning of Thursday November 23, 2006 in Charleston. Chadas relatives and friends are invited to his funeral services 12 noon Monday at the J. Henry Stuhr, West Ashley Chapel in Charleston SC or 11am Thursday at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, MI. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery with military, police, and firefighteras honors. Memorials may be considered for the Chad Rood Memorial Fund, for his son Jonathan. c/o Wachovia Bank Acct.#20000 357 61422. Chad was born August 17, 1976 in Flint, MI the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny G. and Mary (Comstock) Rood. He was a graduate of Hamady High School class of 1995. He presently served as a Deputy with the Charleston County Sheriffas Department, Officer Rood was formerly a volunteer firefighter with Mt. Morris Township Central, formerly a deputy with the Berkley County Sheriffas Department and formerly with Charleston Aviation Authority Police. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #30, Fraternal Order of Police, a member of Michigan State Firefighteras Association, and Hopewell Baptist Church of Flint, MI. Chad was a veteran serving with the US Air Force. Left to cherish his memory are; his son: Jonathan Rood of Goose Creek, SC; stepdaughter: Brittany Scarborough of Goose Creek, SC.; his parents: John and Mary Aris of Flint, MI; brother: Christopher Rood of Chesterfield, MI; his former spouse: Sherry Rood of Goose Creek, SC. He has aunts, uncles, and cousins in Michigan and New York. He was preceded in death by his father Johnny G. Rood.
