Obituary of Douglas Albert Karr

Of Vassar, age 48, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at his residence. Doug was born March 11, 1958 in Saginaw, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Joyce Reona(Parks) Karr. He and Charlene "Charlya Withers were united in marriage August 23, 2000 in Ohio. Doug enjoyed hunting, skiing, golfing, cooking, motorcycle riding, and snowmobiling. He was a dedicated father and enjoyed spending time with his children. He was also an awesome mechanic. Doug owned and operated the Halfway Truckstop and Karras KafA along with his wife Charlene. Surviving are his wife Charlene; 3 children, Courtney, Anthony, and Craig Karr; step-daughter Alicia Shaffer, parents Albert and Joyce Karr; 2 sisters, Vicki Karr of Vassar, Terri and husband Todd Hoyt of Vassar, Father-in-law Wayne and wife Connie Withers of Millington; mother-in-law, Alma Withers; sisters and brothers-in-law; Jack McIntyre of Ft. Meyers, FL, Andrea McIntyre of Ft. Meyers, FL; Connie Fall, Carolyn and husband Paul Jones, Karen Withers-all of Vassar, Mellicha and husband James Ferrier of Burton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Vassar with Pastor Jerry Larkin officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar 11am-9pm Friday, January 19, 2007 and at the church Saturday, January 20, 2007 from 10 am until time of service at 1 pm. Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Vassar and Southern Care Hospice
