Jimmy “Jim” was born in Flint on July 26, 1957, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Dorothy (Smith) Wyatt. Educated locally, Jim attended Elizabeth Ann Johnson High School and graduated with the Class of 1975. During his time in high school, he won several verbal forensic awards for his ability to DJ. Soon after graduation, Jim went to work using his ability to entertain and became a DJ for the radio station WTRX 1330 am. From there, he went to work at WEYI TV25, where he worked for seven years until they merged with another company. Jim then went to work for WNEM TV5 for over 20 years until he retired. Realizing retirement was not for him, Jim took on a job at WJRT TV12, where he worked as the news editor and was currently employed. In his younger years, Jim could often be seen playing with cowboys and Indians, army men, and hot wheels. He was very meticulous and always kept them clean. He would wash and put them away after each use. In his free time, Jim enjoyed watching The Walking Dead. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Jim's memory are his sister, Linda and husband, Jimmy Moore; brother-in-law, Wilson Barnes; nieces and nephews: Elam, Wesley, Ronnie and wife, Angel, Joel and wife, Sherry, Renee and husband, Tim, Lori, Michelle, Amanda and husband, Brian; several other family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Shirley Barnes.
