Obituary of George Vernal Lloyd
Age 82, of Flint, died on Monday, October 10, 2022, at home with his family by his side. In accordance with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No further services are scheduled at this time. George was born on October 19, 1939, in Pontiac, to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Margaret Ann Lloyd. George worked as an Assistant Foreman at the Lake Orion GM plant for 30 years. On November 15, 1991, George married the love of his life, Maggie Strickland. They enjoyed 32 happy years of marriage. George was a dedicated sports fan, supporting Detroit teams, with the Lions and Tigers being his favorites. George loved NASCAR and rarely missed a race. He was an avid camper, and spent many summers camping. He was heavily involved in his CB club, The 13ers. He was a people-person, and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish George’s memory are, his loving wife, Maggie; children Mike, David, Margie; step-children, Ryan Fields and Matt Fields; sister, Janice Weir; and several beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clarence Jr., Betty, Bruce, and Rose.
