Obituary of Michael Terry Scharff
Age 70, of Vassar, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar, with burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Michael “Mike” was born in Saginaw on June 19, 1952, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Thelma (Lawrence) Scharff, Sr. Mike worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Wilsons for many years and then went to work at Dyke’s Pickle Factory. Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing on his own property as well as in St. Helen. He enjoyed gardening and loved to grow his own vegetables. He was always the go-to person whenever anyone needed something. Mike would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything that needed to be done at his home. Mike loved all of his nieces and nephews like they were his own. Mike was a quiet man but loved to spend time with his family. He was a doting grandfather and loved his family deeply. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Mike's memory are his mother, Thelma Hoover; children: Michael Scharff and Tina Scharff; siblings: Paul, Jr. and wife, Emma Scharff, Diane Opperman, Mary and husband, Al Janni, Dave and wife, Linda Scharff, Debra and husband, Mike Bott, Lonnie and wife, Connie Scharff, Jeff and wife, Laurie Scharff; grandchildren: Kayla, Madison, Maggie, Nicholas; great-grandchildren: Eva, Elijah, Elliot; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Paul; nephew Cody Bott; and ex-wife, Waneta Scharff.
