Helen was an amazing seamstress for Container Specialty Co., sewing safety gloves for General Motors, until her retirement in 2009. She loved to sew and made many things for her family. She was also an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Helen was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and NASCAR. She never missed a game. Helen was a lover of all things Elvis. Helen was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Flint for many years. When she went to the nursing home, she enjoyed going with them to St. Pius Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed many activities at Willowbrook Manor, including singing in the choir, working on arts and crafts, and playing BINGO. Her favorite color was yellow, and she loved to see all of the beautiful sunflowers grow every year. They were her favorite. Helen also enjoyed shopping and going out dancing at Celebrations. Helen loved St. Patty’s Day and everything about it. It was her favorite holiday. Spending time at the casino was another of Helen’s favorite things to do. She loved to gamble. But most of all, Helen loved her family and would often spend as much time with her kids and grandkids as she possibly could. She will be greatly missed.
