Obituary of Delores Irene Rolfe
Age 89, of Frankenmuth, formerly of Genesee, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Reverend Karen Williams to officiate. Delores’ family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Delores was born in Pinconning, on April 7, 1932, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Inez (Hughes) Seaton. Educated locally, she graduated from Pinconning High School with the Class of 1950. Delores married the love of her life, James Rolfe, on May 3, 1952. Their union would be blessed with 5 beautiful children. Delores was an active member of the Genesee United Methodist Church for over 70 years, as well as a member of the UMW (United Methodist Women's) group. Delores worked at AVON and Sears only long enough to save money so she could buy herself a piano. She loved playing the piano and would play for church whenever needed. Delores enjoyed vacationing and camping at the Gaylord State Park. Once her children were grown, she traveled the country with her beloved husband. They belonged to a camping travel club that met monthly in different parts of the region to spend time together. Delores enjoyed bowling and did so on a women's league at Nightingale Lanes as well as a mixed couples league at Southland Lanes for many decades. Delores was very talented and made her children’s Halloween costumes for many years. She also enjoyed knitting and tending to her flower garden that she took care of until she was 87 years old. Delores enjoyed making holiday candies and Christmas cookies. She had a tradition of making Christmas Cookies every year with her grandchildren and she passed along her tradition to them. Delores met several friends through her husband's work. They would all get together and play cards and spend time together for over 70 years. Delores loved her family dearly and she will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Delores’ memory is her loving husband of 69 years, James Rolfe; children: Karen and husband, Dave Pool, Paula Peterson, Kevin and wife, Theresa Rolfe; grandchildren: Jason Burchell, Robert and wife, Jennifer Burchell, Meagan Rolfe, Nick Rolfe, Lexi Rolfe, Daniel Rolfe; great-grandchildren: Ivy, Iris, Reed, Brayden, Asher; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; children: James Rolfe and Cheryl Rolfe; siblings: Morse Seaton, John Seaton, Agnes Barton, Nancy Davenport, David Seaton, Bonnie Coppola.
