Obituary of Dorothy Marie Findley
Of Mt. Morris, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 10, 1936, in Nettleton, AR, the daughter of Benny and Mamie (Hopkins) Wilson. Dorothy met and married the love of her life, Vance Findley, on September 26, 1951. Sadly, he preceded her in death on February 8, 1986. Dorothy worked as a machinist/inspector for Kenyon Specialties, Inc., until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed Bingo, bowling, taking casino trips with her friends, bird watching, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 35 years, Vance Findley; brother, Bennie Wilson; sister, Betty (Lucy); half-brothers: Tom, Ed, A.P. Duncan, and Gary; half-sisters: Della and Nettie.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters: Sharon Findley, Phyllis Findley, Paula and husband, Donald Milliron; son, Ray Findley; grandsons: Joseph (Grant) Firmingham. Aaron Firmingham, David and fiancé, Elisha Milliron, great-grandchildren: Allie Firmingham, Jacob (Sydney) Milliron, Katie (Travis) Miller, Jayden Milliron, Jasmine Milliron; great-great-granddaughter, Sofia Milliron; half-brothers: Wayne, James, Danny; half-sisters: Ann, Peggy, Viola; several nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Lewis to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Dorothy’s family will be present to receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
