Leona was born in Unionville, Michigan, on June 9, 1921, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Mary Elva (Earley) Comment. Educated locally, Leona graduated from Unionville High School with the Class of 1938. Leona met Wesley Hutchinson on a hayride in Gagetown. The two dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on April 19, 1941. Their union would be blessed with six beautiful children. Sadly, her beloved Wesley preceded her in death on November 28, 2010. Leona was known for the beautiful afghans that she crocheted. She has crocheted close to 100 afghans and gifted them to her family and friends. She also made teddy bears and several other crafts for her grandchildren. Leona loved to plant African Violets inside her home and display them on her windowsill. They were her favorite flower. Leona was a member and volunteer at the Krapohl Senior Center for many years, helping with the bookkeeping and assisting with the events. She loved to bowl and was on a league at Colonial Lanes Bowling Alley for many years. Camping at Higgins Lake was her very favorite summer activity. She would let the entire family know when they were going and invite them all. She had a deep love for her family, they were her entire world. She will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Leona’s memory are her children: Ilene Parmeter, Larry Hutchinson, Geraldine Stein, Norma Kamyszek; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Leona was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Wesley Hutchinson; parents; children: James Hutchinson, Donna Hutchinson; children-in-law: William Parmeter, Sandra Hutchinson, Raymond Stein, Gerald Kamyszek.
