Age 83, of Mount Morris, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at home with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettle to officiate. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, and again on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Carol was born in Flint, on October 21, 1937, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Doris (Rowbottom) Inman. Educated locally, Carol graduated from Flint Northern High School with the Class of 1956. Carol met and married the love of her life, Herbert Metevier, on April 14, 1956, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Sadly, he preceded her in death on January 2, 2001. Carol was an Administrative Assistant for Citizen's Bank working in the trust department until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and taking care of her indoor plants. Carol enjoyed spending time traveling with her family all over the country. She had a love for baking and was known for her famous Texas sheet cake. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, going to bingo, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thanks to Justin and Melissa for their outstanding care given to their mother.
Carol is survived by her son, Kevin Metevier; daughters: Cathy Genella, and Cindy Metevier; grandchildren: Paul Genella and Justin (Melissa Bentley) Genella, Anthony Inman, Herbert and wife, Samantha Metevier, III, Jeremy, and Katrina Metevier, Shannon Metevier; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Reese, Bentley, Stephen, Brezlin, Klaudia, Paul; siblings: Monya, Ralph and wife, Diane, Linda, Darlene, Mike and wife Christina; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by husband Herbert, Sr.; parents: Ralph and Doris Inman; son, Herbert Metevier, Jr.; sister, Marlene Walker.
