Obituary of Darrell Lewis Zeigler

Age 75, of Wapakoneta, Ohio,  died Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the home of his stepson. In accordance with Darrell’s wishes cremation has taken place. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Darrell’s online tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.

Darrell was born in Sidney, Ohio, on May 24, 1945, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Mildred (Lindermuth) Zeigler. He worked as a farmer for many years with his dad. When he was 16, Darrell went to work for Lotridge Factory working there until his retirement at age 62. Darrell loved his family and spending time with them, he enjoyed attending Dobie family reunions and family gatherings. He enjoyed going to cookouts and family gathering with his children. He was a jack of all trades and liked to fix things, cut wood, and horseback riding at the Due Down ranch where often took his horses. Darrell loved racing of any kind from tractor pulls to demolition derby. He was a very social person and loved to talk, he never sat still and was always doing something. Darrell was a member of the Nazarene Church in Wapakoneta. In his free time, Darrell enjoyed camping in Amishville. 

Darell leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Max and wife, Michelle Zeigler, Lee Zeigler and significant other Peggy Allen; one daughter: Darla Cost; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three step-children: Jennifer Long, Arnold Ray Long, Tonya Long; two sisters: Mary Smith, Martha Zeigler; one brother: David Zeigler; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dallas Zeigler.
