Age 86, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2020. In accordance with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A burial will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Morris, MI. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Bill’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.  

Bill was born on February 20, 1934, in Flint, Michigan, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Frieda (Mueller) Owens. Bill was a graduate of St Michael’s Catholic High School in Flint. After high school, he honorably served in the United States Army for two years. Upon his return to civilian life, Bill studied at the Saint Meinrad Benedictine Monastery in Indiana for eleven years and then went on to work for General Motors, Buick Division, retiring after 30 years. Bill was known for his love of singing and shared his talent for all occasions including church and weddings. In April 2005, Bill moved from Flint, Michigan, to San Diego, California, to be closer to his niece and nephews.

Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his sister-in-law, Mabel (Ralph) Aguon; nephew, Joseph (Jane) Owens; niece, Sharon (David) Zavala; nephews: Daniel (Erlaine) Owens, Greg (Manette) Owens, Mark Owens and a very large number of relatives.

William was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Howard J. Owens.
