Obituary of Darlene Sue Collins

Age 65 of Swartz Creek, formerly of Mt. Morris, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, surrounded by her family. In accordance with Darlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Darlene’s Family. Darlene was born on July 2, 1955, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loros and Ruth (Hosler) Elledge. Raised in Mt. Morris, Darlene was educated locally, graduating from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High with the class of 1973. Darlene worked for many years in the deli of Meijer on Hill Road. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and being outdoors in the sunshine. Darlene was a breast cancer survivor.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Kendra Collins, and Kelsey and husband, Casey Warner; seven grandchildren: Sydney, Hannah, Marshall, Alivia, Brett, Emma, and Kyler; sisters: Linda and husband, Gary Riley, Christine Allen, and Debbie and husband, Mike Muron; brother, Mark Elledge; sister-in-law, Nancy Elledge; and several nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela Healy; brothers: Craig and Steven Elledge; and sister, Marsha Elledge.

Darlene’s family would like to thank Dawn, her nurse, on the 4th Floor at Hurley Medical Center for her compassionate care.
