Obituary of Linda Jean Humpert

Age 76, of Fairgrove, died on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at her home with her family by her side. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, with burial in Brookside Cemetery. Linda was born November 25, 1943, in Bay City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Ella (Hill) Hurley. Raised in Fairgrove, Linda was educated locally, graduating from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the Class of 1961. After graduation, Linda went on to attend the Bay City Business School to prepare her for the workforce. After completing business college, Linda went to work for the Social Security Administration. Linda worked in many capacities, retiring as a service representative with over 30 years of service. Linda was a devoted mom and enjoyed spending time with her extended family. Active in the Fairgrove community, Linda was the neighborhood mom and often volunteered with the Fairgrove VFW #7486 Ladies Auxillary. When not busy with family and work, Linda enjoyed camping, taking road trips, traveling, puzzles, and playing cards.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Courtney Humpert, Becky, and husband, Jimmy McFarland, Mark and wife, Meta Humpert; grandchildren: Ash Tompkins, Amanda Wolford, Marci Wolford,  Jimmy Lee McFarland, and William Foley; several great-grandchildren; sister, Trudy Hurley; brother, Lee, and wife, Rosie Morgan; several special nieces and nephews; and ex-husband and lifetime friend, Jerry Humpert.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
