Please share a memory of Geraldine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

COVID-19 UPDATE: With the recent guidelines limiting the number of people to less than 10 at any gathering, we are asking that you consider other ways to help support family and friends during this difficult time as an alternative to attending a visitation or funeral.

Age 87, of Clio, formerly of Mt. Morris, died on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Tranquility Estates in Grand Blanc. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at a later date. A private burial will be held at Morris Cemetery, on May 4, 2020, to honor Geri on her birthday.  Memorial donations may be directed to the John Hopkins Medicine-Wilmer Eye Insitute 600 N. Wolfe Street Wilmer 112 Baltimore, MD 21 287 to support Dr. Thorne's Birdshot Research or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38015. Please visit Geri's tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.

Geri was born May 4, 1932, in Bay Port, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Naoma (Reynolds) Deming. Raised in Genesee County, Geri's family settled in Mt. Morris, and she graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1950.

Geri worked for many years in her family's business, McDermitt's Bakery in Mt. Morris, and then later became the co-owner until her retirement in 1985. Geri was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. In her free time, Geri enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, and traveling to Arizona and Florida.

Geri leaves to cherish her memory two children: Pam and husband, Wayne Kvasnica and Dennis McDermitt; grandchildren: Dr. Angela Kvasnica and husband, Jason Nordberg, Marie and husband, Mike Lacey, Holly McDermitt, Desmond and wife, Kim McDermitt, and Destiney McDermitt; 6 great-grandchildren; loving sister-in-law, Sherry Rodgers; special niece, Rev. Bonnie Wood; and several nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and two sisters.
