Obituary of Betty L. Rust
Age 91, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Valencia Hills Nursing Home in Florida. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning to officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Betty was born March 14, 1928, in Devils Lake, North Dakota. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eino and Anna (Eisele) Isaacson. Betty married the love of her life, Russell A. Rust, on February 15, 1947, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt Morris. Their marriage would bring forth two beautiful children, a son, and a daughter. Sadly, Russell preceded her in death on July 25, 2008.
Betty began her career working at Seeking Drug Store before moving on to work for Dr. Clark at the Flint Children’s Center, where she dedicated nearly 20 years of service. Dancing, bingo, bowling, playing cards, doing crafts and traveling, were just a few of Betty’s hobbies. She and her husband traveled to all 50 states before moving to Zephyrhills, Florida. Betty was also a fifty-year member of the Pi Omicron Sorority.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Janice Rust from Aspen, Colorado; granddaughter: Megan Rust from Aspen, Colorado; sisters: Ilene Sharp and Geneva Stewart and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Russell; brothers: Hubert Isaacson and Leonard Isaacson: son; Randall Rust.
