John was born on July 29, 1945, in Flint. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Eugenia F. (Belanger) Trzil. On August 13, 1966, John married the love of his life, Lorraine Louise Chapman, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Sadly, Lorraine preceded him in death on March 13, 2012. Educated locally, John graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School with the class of 1963. Shortly after graduation, John would heed the call of his country and enlist in the United States Navy where he would obtain the rank of Corporal with the Navy Seabee's. Upon his return to the states, John began his career working at General Motors Buick Motor Division working on the assembly line. His career would lead him to become a diesel mechanic with General Motors, devoting 40+years to GM, retiring in October 2003. In his free time, John could be found spending time with his beloved wife Lorraine, hunting, fishing for perch at Indian Lake in the Upper Peninsula, watching the wild animals out of his kitchen window, riding his tractor and working in his garden, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

John leaves to cherish his memory; sisters: Loretta Swanson and Delores (Crespo) Lund; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sharron Trzil, Craig (Stacy) Chapman, Mark Chapman, Doug (Sherry) Chapman, Kay Newlon, Beth Chapman, Karen (Ron) Murphy, Janice (Aaron) Wiles, Kim (David) Quinn and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
