Obituary of Gladys Eleanor Koch

Age 89, of Caro, passed away peacefully at her daughter, Diane's home in Lapeer, on Saturday, April 26, 2014. She has joyfully reunited with her husband, Stanley and her son, Stanley II. Gladys was born to Henry and Etta (Wright) McLellan on November 20, 1924, in Cass City, Michigan. She was united in marriage to Stanley George (Bud) Koch at Novesta Church of Christ in Cass City on June 15, 1942. Bud and Gladys were both Docents for the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Gladys worked for 26 years at the Caro Regional Center as an LPAN. Gladys leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Diane and husband, Cal Black; daughter-in-law, Beverly Koch (widow of Stanley "Bud" Koch II); and son, David and wife, Dena Koch. She also leaves many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; as well as her sister-in-law, Virginia (Koch) Smith, from South Carolina. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Florence McLellan Wright and Lucille McLellan Wright; three brothers, Donald, James and Robert McLellan. The funeral service will take place at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 3, 2014, with a viewing prior at 10:00 am. Gladys' son-in-law, Cal Black will officiate with burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Those desiring to make a memorial are asked to give to the family discretionary fund.
