Obituary of Vernon Andrew Gwinn

Vernon Andrew Gwinn, age 53, passed away April 23, 2019, in the comfort of his home. In accordance with Vernon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in his honor Saturday, May 4, 2019. The memorial service will take place at Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute services in Mt. Morris, at 6:30 pm. Vernon’s Family will be present to receive guests from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:30 pm.

Vernon Gwinn was born in Flint, May 13, 1965. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey and Carolyn (Eagle), Gwinn. Vernon was a hardworking self-contractor that took pride in his work. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing and having cookouts, where he served amazing food. He had a smile that would light up any room and jokes that would leave you breathless. Most importantly, Vernon was a family man. His free time was spent with family, making wonderful memories that will remain cherished eternally.

Vernon was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Gwinn. Left to cherish his memory are three children, Vernon Hallwood, Amanda Hallwood, and Karissa Gwinn, the love of his life; Tonya Hallwood, daughter in law; Ashley, son in law; Larry, eight grandchildren; Eternity, Brooklynn, Mackenzie, Logan, Hazel, Charlie, Jay Jay, and Kolt Andrew. Mother; Carolyn (Eagle) Gwinn Siblings; Steve, Doug, Lois, and Nancy.  Along with many other friends and family.
