Obituary of Chester DeWayne Dodd
Age 65, of Mt. Morris, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019, at home, with his family by his side. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, April 15, 2019, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services of Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Lewis officiating, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Chester's family will be present at the funeral home to receive guests on Sunday, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm; and on Monday morning, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Chester was born in Goodrich, Michigan, on April 19, 1953, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Elton and Alma Irene (Edwards) Dodd. He married Cheryl Pease on February 10, 1973, in Mt. Morris. He worked production for Buick for 32-years, retiring in 2004. In his free time, Chester enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed going to car shows, playing horseshoes, woodworking, riding dune buggies, and doing yard work.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryl; five children: Tina, Mike, Tim (Misty), Michelle, and Tamera; 12 grandchildren: Keith, Cody, Charlotte, Kasey, Tim (Samantha), Brianna, Abigail, Hailey, Ashley, Jordan, Jayden, Kassidy; two great-grandchildren: Justin Jr., Easton; siblings: David (Judy), Joe, Alan (Peggy) Teresa; and many other family members and friends.
Chester was preceded in death by his father, two brothers: Eugene, and Anthony 'Tony."
