Obituary of Mary "Janie" Jane Wright
Age 70, of Flint, died the morning of Saturday, March 23, 2019, at her home with her family by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Janie’s family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Service in Mt. Morris, on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Tuesday evening family and friends will gather to pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Wednesday morning, Janie will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the family or the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Janie was born in Flint, Michigan on August 27, 1948, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin and Edna (VanHoogstraten) Sweet. She and Tommy Wright were united in marriage on August 12, 1967, in Flint, Michigan. Sadly he preceded her in death on November 21, 2010. Janie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Danielle, crocheting, arts and crafts, fishing, camping, and watching movies.
Janie is survived by her daughter, Angela and husband, Jeff Valliere; granddaughter, Danielle; brother, Ray and wife, Eileen Collins; sister, Linda and husband, Cliff Jordan; brothers-in-law, Richard and wife, Kay Hobson, and Ken and wife, Amy Hobson; sister-in-law, Brenda and husband, Larry Stratton; many nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Heidi Gross and her sons: Michael and Mason Petersen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; and her father-in-law, and mother-in-law.
