Obituary of Donald Martin Raber, Jr.
Donald Martin Raber, Jr., age 47, of Mt. Morris, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019. A Celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 12:00 pm at the First Apostolic Church of Mt. Morris, 11650 Church St. Mt. Morris, MI 48458. In accordance with Donald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Donald's family will be present at church to receive guests from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 8, 1971, the son of Mr. Donald Raber and Mrs. Carrie Binder. Donald proudly served in the United State Navy for six years, until receiving his honorable discharge on December 16, 1998. He was an electrician for most of his adult life with a degree in Applied science. In his free time, Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, shooting pool, drinking beer, working out and attended the Warrior Dash many times (without paying) "because you could walk in and start running". He was also a world history fan and enjoyed traveling. He was baptized and a member of the First Apostolic Church in Mt. Morris for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are, his daughter, Verlaine Raber; father, Don Raber, Sr.; sister, Nancy (David) Fetty; niece, Julia Fetty, and four nephews: Matthew, Jacob, John, Henry Fetty, uncle Dennis Raber, aunt Pam Fritsch; special friends: Char (Selina) Kinney, and Jenny Russell; and many other family members and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by wife Sherrie, mom, Carrie Binder, and step-dad, Larry Binder.
