Obituary of Nancy Ann Skrbec
Age 78, of Thetford Township, died Friday, February 15, 2019, at the Lodges of Durand, surrounded by her family. A funeral celebrating Nancy’s life, will take place 1:00 pm, Friday, February 22, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Anthony Strouse will officiate with burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
Nancy was born on February 12, 1941, in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Harry and Betty (Hunnicutt) Matthews. Nancy and Ludwig were united in marriage on February 12, 1966. Sadly, he preceded her in death on March 24, 1995. She was a homemaker, staying home to raise three children. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, and traveling to many places including: Alaska, Hawaii, and Ireland.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Steven and wife, Julianne Skrbec and Mark and wife, Karren Skrbec; daughter-in-law: Holly Skrbec; ten grandchildren: Hunter, Hayden, Kaccey, Cheyenne, Lorrin, Justin, Noel, Blake, Jordan and Jackson; two siblings: Jack and wife, Shirley Matthews, and Barbara Jean Anthony; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig Skrbec, son, Jonathan Skrbec, and parents, Harry and Betty Matthews.
