Obituary of Joan Marie Hatchett
Age 63, of Millington, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral celebrating Joan’s life will take place 10:00 am, Friday, January 25, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Adam Manning will officiate, with burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Thursday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Joan was born on April 25, 1955, in Flint, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Melvin and Margaret (Ellsworth) Blair. She was united in marriage to Luther “Duke” Hatchett on August 24, 1973, in Flint. Joan worked for the Thetford Township Senior Center as a Director for many years while tending to the house and raising three children. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, baking, gardening, crafting and finding new ideas on Pinterest. She loved going up to the cabin in St. Helen with her family. She will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Duke Hatchett; three children: Amy (Janine) Hatchett, Roy (Kellie) Hatchett, Katie (Roger) Hicks; 11 grandchildren: Alyssa Keinath, Colton Keinath, Kristen Keinath, Ashley Wolfe, John Wolfe, Megan Hatchett, Mason Hatchett, Miley Hatchett, Roger Hicks III, Palin Hicks, and Makinna Hicks; eight siblings: Linda (Glenn) Baker, Kathy (Paul) Rhodes, Marilyn (Tim) Kocsis, Helen Blair, Gerald (Cathi) Blair, Robert (Carol) Blair, Gary (Elaine) Blair and Charles (Roxanne) Blair.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Richard (Kay) Blair, and Brian Blair.
