Obituary of Francis Xavier Duplanty

Francis Xavier Duplanty Sr., age 86, of Mt. Morris, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at McLaren  Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, November 19, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor John Vannest will officiate, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Monday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.

Francis was born on February 16, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Arthur and Blanche (Dubois) Duplanty. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant from October 1949, until his honorable discharge in July 1952.  Francis and Eunice were united in marriage on October 17, 1953, in Lapeer, Michigan. Sadly, she preceded him in death. He worked 34 years for Buick as a Foreman until his retirement in 1986. In his free time, Francis liked to spend time with his family, neighbors, and friends, he liked to go hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing, tinkering around in the garage, cooking BBQ on the grill and riding his golf cart around the park. He will be greatly missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: James and wife, Brenda Duplanty, Frank and wife, Rhonda Duplanty; five grandchildren: Chris and wife, Carie Duplanty, Nick and wife, Stacey Duplanty, Amanda and husband, Chad Heusted, Sarah Duplanty, Jacob Duplanty; five great-grandchildren: Kyla, Morgan, Andrew, Maddy, Lily; one brother: Joe Duplanty; significant other: Virginia Tierney; and many nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice, parents, and seven brothers and sisters, Dennis, Laurent, Eugene, Bob, Lucille, Blanche, and Agnus.
