Obituary of Jo Ann Smith
Jo Ann Smith, age 81, of Fostoria, formerly of Mt. Morris, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at home with her family by her side. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, October 8, 2018, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris; with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Jo's family will be present at the funeral home on Monday, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jo's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Jo was born in Clio, on July 5, 1937, she is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elsworth and Ruby (Wylie) McDonald. She married the love of her life, Roy on November 27, 1954, in Clio. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 30, 2007. Jo enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, going to the casino, and reading.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Scarlett (Ryan Sturk) Smith, Kelly (Cassie) Smith, Tammy (Dennis) Wittum, Amy (Jim) Lusk, Brett (Stephanie) Smith, and Rusty Smith; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Sandra McDonald, and MaryLou Stafford; and many other family members and friends.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, son Stephan Smith, sister Patricia Sears.
