Obituary of Ruth Janice Blaine
Ruth Janice Blaine, age 81, of Clio, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, at McLaren-Flint with her family by her side. The funeral service will take place at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on August 30, 2018, at 11:00 am; with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Ruth's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Wednesday, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm; and on Thursday, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Eastern Michigan Food Bank. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
She was born in Flint, on October 11, 1936, she is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Vena (Walker) Kaupp. She married the love of her life, Walter on June 22, 1957. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 14, 2017. For many years, Ruth was an active member of the Wagon Wheels Camping Group, the Sweepstakes Club, Jaycees in Mt. Morris, and the Red Hat Grannies. Ruth enjoyed traveling with her husband; together they visited numerous lighthouses throughout Michigan; they traveled to Germany, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Florida, and wintered in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and went to Mardi Gras Parades to get bead necklaces. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Janice and husband, David Skornicka; two sons: Jim and wife, Corinne Blaine, and David and wife, Karen Blaine; seven grandchildren: Sara and husband, Justin Dubey, Kari and husband, Cody Bryant, Marissa Blaine, Miranda Blaine, Melinda Blaine, Julian and wife, Haley Blaine, and Daniel Blaine; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Powers, Shirley Towns, Connie and husband, Ron Jacob; brother, Jerry and wife, Nancy Kaupp; and many other family members.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, and brother Don.
