Obituary of Glenn Tyler Damon

Age 73, of Swartz Creek, died, Sunday, July 29, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. A funeral service celebrating Glenn’s life will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Dr. Douglas Damon and Pastor Steven Janssen will officiate with cremation to follow. Glenn’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Friday, from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial donations to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

 

Glenn was born in Flint, Michigan, on July 3, 1945, to the late Mr. Carter Damon and Mrs. Nina (March) Peterson. Glenn worked as a painter for General Motors at the Truck and Bus plant in Flint. He and Veletta Baxter were united in marriage on August 6, 1966, in Flint. Glenn loved spending time with his family and having fish fry’s in his man cave. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching the Detroit Tigers, and was a huge fan of history. Many of his family and friends will greatly miss him. 

 

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife: Veletta Damon; five children: Lisa Damon, Gregory and wife, Jodi Damon, Stephanie and husband, Jeff Stein, Tracy and husband, Steve Janssen, and Douglas and wife, Mindy Damon; 20 grandchildren: John, Jake, Garrett and wife, Jhasmine, Logan, Zach, Taylor, Airika, Lindsay, Brandon, Ella, Noah, Trent, Emily and husband, Addison, Makenna and fiancee, Struan, Jonah, Jared, Chad, Seth, Parker and Jackson; two great-grandchildren: Laydin and Adilyn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy Humphreys for all the love and support she gave. 

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Damon, and dearly loved Linda Lou.
