Obituary of Maureen Kathleen Bailey
Age 64 of Mount Morris, died on Friday, May 25 at her home. In accordance with Maureen’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 4-8PM, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services of Mt. Morris. In honor of Maureen’s love for writing, her family asks that you bring a letter with stickers attached in her honor.
Maureen was born on April 30, 1954, in Flint, MI to the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Florence McMahan (Maule) in Flint. She resided in the area for her life, graduating from Hamady High School in 1972. After her graduation, Maureen continued her education at the University of Michigan-Flint, receiving a dual Bachelors Degree in History and English. Her love of literature would ignite a passion for writing. Maureen was known for sending letters and cards to family members and friends. In 1976 Maureen wed George Bailey, and together they had two children, Mollie and Benjamin. George preceded her in death in 1997.
Maureen is survived by her children: Mollie Bailey, Benjamin Bailey; grandchildren: Jordan, Adrien, Allyson, Madelynn, Dante, Breeann, Benny, Gracyn; siblings: Mathew wife Carole McMahan, Marie husband Joseph O’ Leary, Marsha Boucher, Margaret McMahan, and B.D Churchhill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Bailey children scholarship fund, care of Mollie Bailey or to donate bulbs and planters to a future garden in Maureen’s Honor.
