Obituary of Leon Eugene Gunn
Age 79, of Flint, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will take place 12:00 noon, Friday, April 13, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dennis Church will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Leon was born November 12, 1938, in Flint, Michigan to the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Violet (Pearsall) Gunn. Leon served his country as a member of the United States Army for two years. After his discharge from the Armed Forces, he worked for General Motors retiring in 1992. In 1962, he married the love of his life, Thelma in Flint. Leon was a true Outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in nature.
Left to cherish his memory; wife: Thelma; sons: Leon Gunn (Lori Cable), Randy Gunn (Patti Spooner); daughter: Lisa Marie Shinabarger; grandchildren: Troy, Stacy, Christopher, Ryan, and Scott; great-grandchildren: Timothy, Samuel, Aianna, Arielle, Miles, Hunter, Parker, Conner; brothers: Don Gunn, Jerry Gunn (Sally); sisters: Ann Trickey, Denise Smith (Pete), and Anita Gunn; sister-in-law: Donna Gunn.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale; son-in-law Tim Shinabarger; sister-in-law Mary Gunn; brother-in-law Richard Trickey.
